The Southern African Development Community (SADC) plans to send troops to the Democratic Republic of Congo to help fight rebels in the country's east. 20 Worshipers Still Missing After Latest Church Attack in Nigeria

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) says it’s still searching for 20 people abducted by gunmen from a church during a Sunday service. CAN says gunmen invaded the church in a remote Kaduna state village and took more than 40 people but later let some go. Kaduna is among Nigerian states most affected by groups of armed bandits that frequently kidnap for ransom. Iran Executes on Average More Than 10 People a Week, UN Says

United Nations human rights chief Volker Türk said on Tuesday that Iran has executed more than 10 per week on average this year. At least 209 people were executed in the country since January 1, primarily for drug-related offenses, but a United Nations statement said the actual number is likely much higher. FBI Takes Down 'Sophisticated' Russian Cyberespionage Tool, US Says

U.S. officials said on Tuesday they've taken down a global network of compromised computers that Russian intelligence agents used for nearly 20 years to spy on the United States and its allies. Officials said a unit within Russia's Federal Security Service, or FSB, used a malicious software called Snake to steal sensitive documents from hundreds of compromised computer networks in at least 50 countries. Twenty-five days since the war in Sudan broke out, there are no indications the warring factions have any intentions of negotiating an end as fighting rages on. UN: Over 4.5 Million Women, Newborns Die From Preventable Causes Every Year

A report by leading United Nations agencies says global progress in reducing maternal and newborn deaths has stalled for nearly a decade largely due to underinvestment in providing the health care. A federal court jury in New York on Tuesday awarded a onetime magazine advice columnist about $5 million after concluding that Donald Trump was liable for sexually abusing her 20 years before he became the U.S. president and then defamed her by dismissing the encounter as a "hoax."     The nine-member jury — six men and three women — reached its decision after three hours of deliberation, the first time Trump had faced a trial to hold him to account on widespread allegations over many years from women accusing him of unwanted sexual advances.

More Bodies Found in Search for Kenyan Forest Death Cult Followers 

Kenyan investigators exhumed 21 more bodies on Tuesday as they resumed a search for followers of a doomsday cult, who the interior minister described as victims of a "highly organized crime." Paul Mackenzie, leader of the Good News International Church, is in custody accused of ordering followers to starve their children and themselves so they could go to heaven before the end of the world, which he said would come on April 15.
