Five Egyptian policemen were killed and six wounded on Monday by two roadside explosions in the restive Sinai Peninsula, security sources told Reuters. The five policemen were killed in the city of Arish, the capital of North Sinai province, when their armored vehicle drove past a roadside bomb, the sources said. Three others were wounded. The Turkish parliament voted Monday to extend a state of emergency by three months, nearly a year after it was implemented in the wake of a failed coup attempt. The United Arab Emirates on Monday denied hacking Qatar's state news agency. Officials in Doha, however, say they believe a report implicating Abu Dhabi in the incident, which sparked a diplomatic crisis in the Gulf this May.
