At least one person has been killed in a shooting Sunday at Israel's embassy in Jordan. Jordanian security sources declined to give more information and Israeli officials declined to comment. An Israeli was seriously wounded in the attack, the French Press Agency reported. President Donald Trump's new communications adviser says it's time to hit the "reset button." Appearing on Fox News Sunday, Wall Street financier Anthony Scaramucci pledged to begin "an era of a new good feeling" and said he hopes to "create a more positive mojo." Iranian state TV is reporting a strong 5.4 magnitude earthquake has led to a power outage in a remote area in the country's south. The quake that struck at around 10 p.m. local time on Sunday jolted the Sirch village in the southern province of Kerman, some 1100 kilometers (683 miles) south of the capital Tehran. The report said telecommunications were not possible due to the earthquake. State media described the depth of the earthquake as only 10 kilometers (6.2 miles). Yemen's president has sacked a governor who was sanctioned by the U.S. Treasury Department for his ties with al-Qaida. The presidential decree by Abed Rabbou Mansour Hadi was issued on Sunday. Hadi removed the governor of the central province of al-Bayda, Nayef al-Qaysi, and named Salah al-Rassass as his replacement. Russia is responsible for the "Hot War" in Eastern Ukraine, the newly appointed U.S. special envoy to Ukraine said Sunday. Jordan Spieth won golf's British Open on Sunday, outdueling fellow American Matt Kuchar over the final holes to capture his third major championship. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan landed in Saudi Arabia Sunday to begin a two-day trip aimed at defusing a standoff between Ankara's ally Qatar and neighboring countries. Libya's eastern commander Khalifa Haftar and the head of the U.N.-backed government Prime Minister Fayez al-Serraj plan to meet on Tuesday for French-organized talks on a deal to resolve the country's crisis, a diplomatic source said on Sunday. Iran and Iraq signed an agreement on Sunday to step up military cooperation and the fight against "terrorism and extremism," Iranian media reported, an accord which is likely to raise concerns in Washington. Malawi is relocating 500 elephants from the southern part of the country to a wildlife reserve further north. The goal is to rebuild elephant populations decimated by poaching and conflict with local residents. Preliminary results from East Timor's parliamentary election show the Fretilin party has won the most votes while its partner in the national unity government has suffered a slump in support. Venezuela's opposition announced a two-day national strike this week aimed pressuring President Nicolas Maduro to cancel a controversial July 30 election for a new congress. Protesters rallied Saturday in Caracas for a march toward the embattled nation's Supreme Court, chanting slogans opposing President Nicolas Maduro's plan to rewrite the constitution. Police in the southern U.S. state of Texas say eight people have been found dead in the back of a tractor-trailer on a Walmart parking lot. San Antonio Fire Chief Charles Hood says at least 28 people, including children, were pulled out of the truck with 17 of them suffering critical heat-related injuries.
