Counter-insurgency forces in Sudan arrested one of the top militia chiefs in North Darfur, who the United Nations accuses of committing numerous human rights violations. Musa Hilal, a former aide to President Omar al-Bashir, was taken into custody in his hometown of Mustariaha in North Darfur state, along with his son Habeeb according to officials. Senior Turkish ministers have strongly criticized the United States and its policies toward Turkey and the region. The criticisms come after Turkish officials said the Trump administration met a key Turkish demand to end the arming of a Syrian Kurdish militia. Three Chinese nationals were accused of hacking computers in three corporations, the U.S. Department of Justice said Monday. Wu Yingzhuo, Dong Hao and Xia Lei were indicted Monday by a grand jury "for computer hacking, theft of trade secrets, conspiracy and identity theft" and intentionally causing damage to those computer systems. A student from western Kenya is the top performer in the country’s recent national primary school exams. Her success is made extraordinary because she is albino, a group that has experienced discrimination in Africa, particularly when it comes to access to education. U.S. Senator Al Franken said he knows that he has let a lot of people down over allegations of sexual misconduct, but vowed to regain the public's trust saying "this will not happen again." As tensions escalate between North Korea and the United States, Hawaii finds itself on the frontlines in preparing for a nuclear attack. Whether or not North Korea has developed the capability of hitting the islands with a missile, state officials aren’t taking any chances.
